The responsibilities of a Rental Agent include assisting customers at the rental desk, coordinating vehicle rentals, and preparing vehicles for customers in accordance with dealership standards. The Rental Agent builds customer loyalty by delivering excellent service, maintaining accurate rental records, and ensuring vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for safe and reliable use.

Responsibilities
- Assist customers with vehicle rental reservations, check-ins, and check-outs at the rental desk
- Prepare rental agreements, verify driver eligibility, and collect required documentation
- Ensure rental vehicles are clean, fueled, inspected, and ready for customer delivery
- Perform basic vehicle preparation, including washing, vacuuming, and checking fluid levels
- Conduct vehicle walk-around inspections before and after rentals
- Document vehicle condition and report any damage or maintenance concerns
- Coordinate vehicle availability and scheduling with service and management teams
- Maintain accurate records of rentals, returns, and vehicle status
- Maintain a clean and organized rental desk and vehicle preparation area
- Provide excellent customer service while ensuring a smooth and efficient rental experience
Qualifications
- Strong customer service with written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of vehicle operations and safety
- Effective analytical and communication skills with an eagerness to improve
- Ability to learn dealership systems and rental procedures
- Ability to operate basic office equipment and dealership software
- Previous customer service or rental experience preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Physical Requirements
- The physical requirements of the position are LIGHT to MEDIUM in intensity.
- Must be able to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision comparable necessary to drive vehicles safely.
- Constant – Reaching, sitting, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing.
- Frequent – Repetitive motion.
- Occasional – Balancing, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to ~50 lbs.
Physical Working Conditions
This position is subject to inside and outside environmental working conditions including but not limited to temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, minor potential physical hazards such as electrical, mechanical, and cleaning equipment, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems such as fumes, odors and dusts associated with operation of an auto dealership.
