We are looking to hire a highly motivated individual, dependable, trustworthy, good customer service and detail-oriented to join Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM). The full-time Custodian position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the building based on assigned cleaning duties located in Kalihi at a Warehouse

• Maintain high standard of cleanliness of assigned duties (sweep, dust, mop, wipe down areas, and restock cleaning supplies)

• Pick up trash in the chill and dry dock area and properly dispose to designated area

• Respond to spill calls and inspect spills in the aisle

• Communicate with night shift for any reported spills

• Multi-task, work efficiently both independently and as a team

• Follow safety procedures

• Uphold a high standard of professionalism and customer service at all times 

• Communicate effectively with supervisor, co-workers, vendors and property manager

• Report safety issues or building problems (i.e. burnt light bulbs, etc.)

• Notify appropriate HBM employee of the supplies and equipment that are needed for cleaning duties.

• Perform all other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Previous janitorial, custodian experience or related experience is preferred, and willing to train.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Must have good public relations skills and communication
• Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 30lbs (up to 50lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, stair and climb up/down a ladder and stand throughout their shifts.

Schedule: Sunday to Thursday from 10pm - 6:30am graveyard shift

Compensation:  $18/per hour
