PURPOSE
The recruiting assistant supports the Human Resources team with total organization recruitment and retention. In addition to facilitating the recruitment/hiring process, the Recruiting Assistant also performs various administrative tasks including pre screening of candidates, conducting background and reference checks, updates job boards and internal applicant tracking systems (ATS). The Recruiting Assistant plays a pivotal role in the success of the company onboarding and retention strategy, and provides a positive candidate experience throughout the entire employment cycle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Facilitate a seamless hiring process for candidates and hiring managers

Draft various communications such as job descriptions, job postings, offer/rejection letters

Assist with all aspects of the recruitment process including ATS management, screening, selection and onboarding/offboarding of candidates

Assist candidates during all stages of the interview process, answering questions and providing them with key materials as needed

Assist in the scheduling of interviews as needed

Follow up and maintain interview guides

Conduct “stay” and “exit” interviews with employees

Represent Campus Auxiliary Services at local career fairs and job placement events

Creates and submit CSEA bids for open positions internally

Collaborate with hiring managers to ensure a communicative and informed hiring process

Assist in establishing and maintaining community outreach and working relationships with local culinary schools, BOCES programs, temporary staffing agencies, and various other candidate pipelines

Assist with setting up new hires in the HRIS system, and responsible for the maintenance of of system

Complete onboarding and required training for all new hires

Assist in creating and implementing retention strategies to meet retention goals

Assist the Human Resources department with other administrative or project related duties

Other duties may be assigned to reach individual and organizational goals

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in the human resources and/or recruiting field

Associates’ Degree or higher in Human resources or related field preferred

Combination of equivalent education and/or experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time

Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds occasionally

Extensive phone and computer use

Rate of pay: $21-$24/hour
