Jr. Controller will be accountable for the financial, administrative and risk management operations of O’GARA including the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve dealership assets and report accurate financial results.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Accounting preferred       
  • 1-2 years of automotive industry business office accounting/reporting experience    
  • Detail-oriented and able to problem solve 
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills           
  • Outstanding communication skills; written and oral
  • Professional appearance and disposition            
  • Strong technical skills in accounting
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment  
  • Well organized
  • Proficient in excel                                               
  • Tekion experience preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare complete financial statements monthly according to O’GARA guidelines and within the multiple manufacturers’ format and timeframe
  • Interpret financial statement activity, including the daily operating control (DOC) regularly and inform  Executive Vice President of developing trends
  • Meet with Controller and/or Executive Vice President to evaluate and design effective processes and procedures around directives received from Executive Management
  • Work in a positive, collaborative, and supportive relationship with the General Manager and/or General Sales Manager on a regular, daily basis
  • Coordinate the preparation of all information requested by CPA for annual audit and physical inventory to minimize additional costs
  • Provide department managers support and coordination of issues surrounding the flow of information to and from the business office
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable and floor plan payable
  • Partner with management to implement recommendations to ensure compliance
  • Supervise Business Office and assist with day-to-day decisions to ensure all office personnel are using proper accounting procedures and maintaining accurate records
  • Maintain effective cash management system to ensure covenant requirements are met
  • Ensure dealership privacy compliance as it relates to Federal and State regulations for Sales, Service, F&I and Parts Department
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local financial regulations, including filing and/or maintaining of required forms, payroll taxes and deposits, income taxes, retirement plan records, etc.

Compensation: $90,000 - $130,000/ annually (depending on experience)
