We are seeking a Payroll & Controller to join our corporate team and play a key role in supporting the financial heartbeat of our company and its diverse portfolio of properties.
You’ll work closely with our corporate team, leadership, property managers, human resources, and accounting team to drive positive financial performance, ensure payroll accuracy, and help foster a culture of engagement and excellence.
Compensation and Benefits: $70,000 - $75,000 per year. Full-Time Team Members receive benefits including health, dental, vision, and life, 401(k), STD, LTD, paid holiday, vacation, personal & sick time, lean management training, and numerous other employee discount benefits through our HR provider LL Roberts.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Process multi-location payroll, tax deposits, and all related quarterly and annual reporting
- Prepare payroll billing across assigned properties to ensure accuracy and timely processing
- Accounting operations such as A/R, A/P, and purchasing for assigned properties.
- Prepare and analyze timely and accurate financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports, and budgets
- Develop, evaluate, and enhance accounting systems, internal controls, and operational procedures
- Monitor and analyze daily and weekly revenue, KPIs, payroll, and budget performance
- Oversee general ledger accounts, month-end closings, reconciliations, and fixed asset reporting
- Support buy vs. lease analysis, cash flow management, and financial forecasting
- Collaborate cross-functionally to provide financial insights and operational data to drive strategic decisions
- Assist in training, developing, and supervising accounting staff
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- 5–10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, financial reporting, and strategic analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and accounting software (QuickBooks, M3, and IBS experience preferred)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-location environment
