Occupational Therapist

Description of the role: An Occupational Therapist at University Home Care will be responsible for providing therapy services to patients in Livonia, Michigan. The therapist will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide hands-on therapy to maximize patient independence and improve their quality of life. The therapist will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and effective patient care. Responsibilities: - Perform assessments to identify patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans. - Provide therapeutic interventions and exercises to improve patients' physical, cognitive, and sensory abilities. - Educate patients and their families on adaptive equipment, techniques, and home modifications to support independent living. - Document patient progress and maintain accurate records. - Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to coordinate care and achieve optimal outcomes. - Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in occupational therapy to enhance practice. Requirements: - A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. - Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Michigan. - Proven experience in providing occupational therapy services. - Strong knowledge of therapeutic interventions, equipment, and techniques in occupational therapy. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to assess patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans. - Empathy and patience to work with patients of diverse backgrounds and conditions. - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
