Job Summary

The responsibilities of a Service Valet include greeting customers, listening to their needs, and directing them to the appropriate person or location. They will also direct service traffic flow and parking.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area from workstation on the service drive.
  • Open garage doors as customers approach the service area.
  • Greet all customers entering the service area with a friendly, upbeat attitude, answers their questions, and direct them to the appropriate person or location.
  • Controls service traffic flow and parking.
  • Determine if customers coming into service have an appointment. Records customer’s name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing vehicle damage.
  • Complete VCI on all vehicles within Update Promise software
  • Record tread depth readings and turn front tires to the side to inspect for uneven wearing.
  • Recognize general vehicle repairs and notify advisor or management.
  • Install disposable covers and floor mats in vehicle interiors being serviced.
  • Assist service advisors when needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe service drive area, free of dirt, water, leaves, snow, etc.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Tag keys and place mirror tags in all vehicles.
  • Move vehicles to a technician stall or if full, move to the appointed parking area and ensure all windows are up and all vehicles are locked.
  • Deliver keys to the assigned technician for the Repair Order
  • Advise management of any customer articles such as Cell Phones, CD’s, electronics, cash, etc. left inside any vehicle.
  • Adhere to all customer service processes.
  • Fill in for shuttle drivers as needed.
  • Bring customers’ vehicles to the front of the service drive when directed.
  • Ensure customers’ vehicles are free of dirt and grease from their service visit.

 

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass a motor vehicle report and background check.
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission.
  • Valid driver’s license.
