THE AUTOMOTIVE GENERAL SALES MANAGER IS VITALLY IMPORTANT
The General Sales Manager oversees the entire sales department, leading the sales team and ensuring customer satisfaction. They will develop and execute sales plans, setting sales targets, analyzing sales data to identify areas for improvement, managing budgets, and maximizing profitability within the sales department.
Our General Sales Managers can expect to earn $120,000+ per year.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the GM to create annual forecasts and monitor forecasts throughout the year.
- Develop growth strategy in sales and staffing. Meet with managers to implement processes for achieving sales and gross profits.
- Hiring and monitoring the performance of Sales Consultants, Sales Manager, and Floor Managers.
- Audit all appraisals of trade-in vehicles.
- Ensure management is involved in all in-store customers early. Hold management accountable to follow up with all active prospects.
- Oversee productive sales meetings and training.
- Schedule and ensure attendance on VinSolutions performance manager calls.
- Coordinate appropriate supply of new and used inventory and assist in acquiring used inventory.
- Attend to sales customer complaints and resolution.
- Oversee online inventory, pricing, pictures, and descriptions.
QUALITIES FOR SUCCESS:
- Two years’ minimum F&I experience.
- Two years’ minimum Sales Management experience is required.
- Professional, personal appearance.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead and train others.
- Must possess a valid IL driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
