Tutor Doctor provides personalized, one-on-one tutoring designed to help students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. We match tutors with students based on subject expertise and personality, creating a supportive and effective learning experience. Tutor Doctor is seeking a knowledgeable and reliable STEM Tutor to work one-on-one with high school students in the Carlsbad and Oceanside areas. This is a flexible, part-time position ideal for someone with a strong background in math and science who enjoys helping students build confidence and succeed academically.

We are especially interested in candidates who can support high school math and science courses, including advanced and AP-level subjects.

What You’ll Do

• Provide one-on-one tutoring in high school math and science subjects

• Support students in courses such as Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics

• Assist with homework, test prep, and overall subject comprehension

• Adapt sessions to each student’s learning style and academic goals

• Communicate with parents and office via submitting session reports 

What We’re Looking For

• Strong academic background in math and/or science

• Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred

• Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, relatable way

• Reliable, patient, and engaging with students

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or currently pursuing) preferred

• Experience with AP-level courses (AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Calculus, AP Physics) not required but would be a bonus! 

• Reliable transportation required

• Clear background check

Pay: $22–$29/hour 
Schedule: 2–10 hours per week (primarily after school and weekends)
Location: In-home tutoring in Carlsbad and Oceanside
