Town East Ford is seeking an experienced, Ford Certified Transmission Technician to join our growing service department!

We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, accurate diagnostics, and efficient repairs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling Ford automatic and manual transmissions, including advanced transmission and drivability concerns.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Ford automatic and manual transmissions, including 6-speed and 10-speed transmissions.

• Perform transmission overhauls, internal repairs, component replacements, and complete transmission assembly replacements.

• Diagnose complex transmission, electrical, hydraulic, and drivability concerns using Ford-approved diagnostic equipment.

• Utilize Ford diagnostic software, including FDRS and IDS, to accurately identify vehicle concerns.

• Perform transmission-related TSB, recall, and warranty repairs in accordance with Ford Motor Company guidelines.

• Document diagnostic findings, repair procedures, and completed work accurately and thoroughly.

• Follow Ford Workshop Manual procedures and dealership repair standards.

• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining the highest level of quality and workmanship.

• Work closely with service advisors, dispatch, and management to ensure timely vehicle repairs.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

• Stay current with Ford technical training, certifications, and emerging transmission technologies.

Qualifications

• Ford Transmission Certification required.

• Previous Ford dealership transmission repair experience strongly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of Ford 6R80, 6F35, 10R80, and other Ford transmission systems.

• Experience with transmission teardown, internal component replacement, and complete rebuilds.

• Proficiency using Ford IDS, FDRS, and other diagnostic equipment.

• Ability to diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical transmission issues.

• Strong understanding of Ford warranty repair procedures and documentation requirements.

• Ability to work independently, manage repair time efficiently, and consistently produce quality work.

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

• Ford Senior Master Technician certification is a plus.
