PET SITTERS - TEMPE, CHANDLER & GILBERT

TLC House & Pet Sitting Service is hiring reliable, responsible, experienced pet sitters to join our local team!

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for flexible supplemental work and extra income while maintaining control over their schedule.

You MUST live near the area where you will be working. 

We are currently hiring in Tempe, Chandler, and Gilbert. We require you to live within 5 miles of these zip codes.

• Tempe:  85284

• Chandler:  85226, 85249, and 85248 

• Gilbert:  85298, 85296, and 85297

WHO THIS POSITION MAY BE A GREAT FIT FOR

You do not need to be retired or work from home to apply. What is important is that you have reliable availability during our service windows and can meet our location, transportation, and holiday requirements.

PET SITTER - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• You MUST live near the area where you will be working. We are currently hiring in Tempe 85284, Chandler 85226 and 85248, and Gilbert 85298. We generally require you to live within 5  miles in these zip codes.

• You MUST have a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and auto insurance.

• You MUST be available for major holidays. Our busiest holidays are July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

• You must be available for one or both of our primary service windows:

  • Morning: 6:00 AM-9:00 AM

  • Evening: 5:00 PM-8:00 PM

• Overnight availability: 7:00 PM-7:00 AM is a major plus.

• Mid-day availability: 11:00 AM-2:00 PM is also a major plus.

• You must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.

• Must speak, read, and write English fluently.

• Own a smartphone with a working camera and cell service

• Communicate daily with clients through our pet-sitting software, along with photos and detailed journal notes

• Must be able to climb stairs, bend, and walk comfortably.

• We prefer at least 1 year of paid or volunteer animal-care experience.

• You must be willing to commit to working with TLC for at least one year.

• You must be dependable, responsible, able to work independently, and comfortable following detailed instructions.

• We are looking for sitters who want to build long-term relationships with our clients and their pets.

SERVICE HOURS

Our primary daily service windows are:

Morning: 6:00 AM-9:00 AM
Mid-day: 11:00 AM-2:00 PM
Evening: 5:00 PM-8:00 PM

Visits may range from 15-60 minutes, and you may have multiple client visits within a service window, especially during holidays and other busy periods such as fall and spring break.

Overnights: 7:00 PM-7:00 AM

Mid-day and overnight availability are not required, but they are a significant plus.

MAJOR HOLIDAY AVAILABILITY - REQUIRED

Our busiest holidays are:

• July 4th

• Thanksgiving

• Christmas

Availability to work during these major holidays is required. Sitters must be willing to work at least part of the day when assignments are scheduled.

These are some of our busiest times of the year, and we need reliable sitters available to help care for our clients' pets.

If you are looking for a position where you can automatically take major holidays off, this position is not a good fit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on your assignments, you may:

• Provide daily and vacation pet visits

• Walk and exercise dogs

• Care for cats and other small animals

• Provide overnight pet sitting

• Feed pets and provide fresh water

• Administer medications as instructed

• Follow detailed pet-care instructions

• Provide playtime, companionship, and affection

• Clean up after pets and perform minor pet-related housekeeping

• Send photos and updates to clients

• Report concerns or emergencies to TLC

• Maintain the safety and security of clients' homes

• Follow TLC policies and protect client confidentiality

COMPENSATION

• Approximately 200-2,000+ per month, depending on availability and assignments

• Holiday pay

• Client gratuities

• Flexible scheduling based on your available service windows and TLC assignments

• 1099 independent contractor position

• Support from the TLC team (office and other sitters in your area)

This position can work well for someone who wants to earn extra income without committing to a traditional full-time schedule.
