Universal Pre School Lead Teacher (P-3 Cert Required)

The Universal Pre School Lead Teacher will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. This position requires a dedicated educator with a P-3 certification who is passionate about early childhood development and committed to delivering high-quality instruction that supports the holistic growth of each student.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of preschool-aged children.
• Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Observe and assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with families, staff, and administration to support student success.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to student learning and classroom activities.
• Participate in professional development and school meetings as required.

Requirements

• Valid P-3 Certification (Pre-K through Grade 3 teaching certificate).
• Experience working with preschool children in an educational setting preferred.

• Instruction and Curriculum:

  Developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with early childhood education standards and curriculum.
• Assessment and Observation:

  Regularly assessing student progress, observing student behavior and development, and identifying areas where students may need additional support.
• Parent Communication:

  Communicating with parents about student progress, concerns, and opportunities for home learning.
• Classroom Management:

  Creating and maintaining a safe, stimulating, and engaging classroom environment that fosters learning and development.
• Collaboration:

• If the role involves UPK, it may include responsibilities related to UPK implementation, such as:
  • Ensuring that the program meets the requirements of UPK funding and guidelines.
  • Collaborating with other UPK providers and stakeholders.
  • Advocating for the expansion of UPK in the community. 
     

• Education: Bachelor's degree in education or a related field is often required. 
   
• Certification: P-3 teaching certification is typically required. 
   
• Experience: Experience in early childhood education or teaching is often preferred. 
   
• Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.
