Position Summary - Lead Caregiver (full-time guaranteed):
We are seeking an experienced and highly adaptable Lead Caregiver (or CNA) to join our team. This dynamic role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, delivers consistently excellent care, and enjoys shaping the client experience from day one. As our go-to team member for launching new cases, covering urgent shifts, and supporting higher-acuity clients, the Lead Caregiver plays a key role in ensuring quality, continuity, and client satisfaction. In recognition of your flexibility, we offer a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours and overtime based on business needs.
Caregiver Responsibilities:
- Daily Living Support: Assist clients with essential activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility support.
- Specialized High-Acuity Care: Provide advanced assistance for clients with higher care needs, including the use of mobility equipment (e.g., hoyer lifts) and care for bed-bound individuals. Support clients with memory-related challenges, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s, ensuring they receive compassionate and specialized attention.
- Companionship & Engagement: Offer companionship, facilitate social interactions, and provide mental stimulation to improve clients' overall well-being.
- Housekeeping & Meal Preparation: Perform light housekeeping tasks and prepare meals to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
- Medication & Routine Assistance: Provide medication reminders, support daily routines, and monitor any changes in clients' conditions.
- Errands & Transportation: Assist with transportation, run errands, and support clients in maintaining their independence and active lifestyle.
- Safety & Supervision: Ensure client safety by adhering to individualized care plans and providing personalized supervision tailored to each client’s needs.
Responsibilities Specific to the Lead Caregiver Role:
- Start-of-Service Leadership: Launch new client assignments with professionalism and care. Collaborate with the Care Coordinator to recommend minor adjustments to care plans based on initial observations.
- Training & Support: Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to caregivers joining a client’s case, ensuring smooth handoffs and consistent quality of care.
- Emergency & Fill-In Coverage: Step in quickly to fill last-minute or short-notice shift needs and ensure continuity of care.
- Field-Based Leadership: Represent The Next Chapter as a trusted point of contact for new clients and families. Communicate clearly and consistently with the care coordination team to support excellent outcomes and smooth transitions.
Requirements:
- Screening: Successful completion of a thorough criminal background check, drug screening, DMV record check, and a negative TB test prior to employment. A fingerprint clearance card is highly preferred.
- Certifications: Must possess valid First Aid and CPR certifications. Completion of a formal CNA program or Caregiving Certification is highly preferred (and required before beginning client assignments, but can be completed via company-provided training).
- References: Provide at least two positive references from past employment that demonstrate your professionalism and commitment.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of direct caregiving experience specifically in home care required. Preference given to those with high-acuity care experience and demonstrated reliability in flexible or on-call roles.
- Availability & Travel: Must have open availability (including days, overnights, weekends & holidays) and reliable transportation to travel anywhere within our service area. We currently service the entire East Valley & surrounding areas in Pinal County as well.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 30 hours/week regardless of client schedule.
- Competitive Pay: Earn between $20 and $22 per hour, based on experience and certifications - opportunity for quick advancement

- Travel Time: Receive paid travel time between consecutive client assignments.
