We are seeking a technically savvy Donor Analytics Manager to advance the Development Department’s analytics program. Through predictive modeling and analysis this professional will provide insightful and data-driven information to help the department meet its ambitious goals. A successful candidate will have a natural curiosity and appreciation for data, possess solid experience creating predictive models, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced setting, able to meet deadlines, be proactive, work independently and as part of a team. Position Summary: Responsible for providing data driven solutions for prospect management and research. Design and develop analytical strategies to support prospect development activities. Analyze, extract, organize, mine, and model data to visually and quantitatively represent donor trends and other key information to grow and populate the prospect pipeline. Serve as subject matter expert for the team in prospect data analysis and reporting. Develop and maintain substantial knowledge of applicable information technology and how data are structured within the development database and complementary reporting tools.
Essential Functions:
Use quantitative analyses to estimate the philanthropic capacity of prospects.
Analyze broad data sets to identify trends and develop actionable recommendations for development officers, and the membership and annual fund team. Analyze data and identify trends, patterns and anomalies to build predictive data models.
Plan, develop and implement custom scores and predictive models to facilitate the identification of high quality prospects to ensure portfolios have a sufficient number of prospects to meet goals and to develop an understanding of donor behavior.
Design and implement comprehensive data-mining and proactive prospect identification projects for various fundraising initiatives.
Communicate, document and present biographical, philanthropic, professional and financial information about donors and prospects as necessary.
Manage tracking and reporting of prospect related information from research, ratings, segmentation and other related activities.
Provide support for and attend Arboretum events.
Demonstrate alignment with the Arboretum’s employee core values to be inclusive, take ownership, work together, keep learning, and make the Arboretum exceptional.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Serve in a supervisory capacity of one or more employees, providing leadership guidance and communicating the organization's goals. This includes:
- Hiring, training, coaching and developing team members, by providing recognition and feedback, and evaluating performance
- Ensuring that team members adhere to the Arboretum’s policies and procedures, and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
- Building and maintaining positive working relationships with team members, colleagues, and other stakeholders to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, math, analytics or a related field required. 4+ years of experience working in the field of data science or analysis, prospect management and/or database experience in a nonprofit environment required. Must be curious and passionate about data. Supervisory experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. High degree of technical skills with proficiency and understanding of data mining, modeling, and statistical analysis techniques and software. Analytical skills with the ability to synthesize a high volume of information from a variety of sources required. Experience using reporting tools such as Tableau, or similar software is highly desirable. Proficiency with a constituent relationship management system. Advanced knowledge of Excel formulas and functions, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data validation; Google applications beneficial.

Ability to set priorities independently in order to meet expectations for multiple projects is essential.
