The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center for Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. Salary and Benefits for Adult Psychosocial Group Leader:

  • Base hourly pay rate of $20.52 to $22.93 based on relevant experience

Primary Duties for Adult Psychosocial Group Leader:

  • Provide ongoing support and follow-through for client goal attainment in the areas of these life domains: home, financial/insurance, vocational/educational, health, relationships, leisure/recreation, daily living skills, through goal-directed APP activities
  • Facilitate groups as assigned and assist with development of group program curriculum
  • Provide assertive outreach directed toward engaging and maintaining client relationships.  Meet with clients individually when necessary or assigned
  • Assist clients and/or caregivers to locate and use resources to meet defined goals and needs when appropriate
  • Update WRAP plans, including crisis plans as needed and at least yearly

Minimum Qualifications for Adult Psychosocial Group Leader:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or human service field preferred.  Equivalent work experience in the human services field, or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education, with one year of experience substituting for one year of education, may be considered.
  • Required:  Six months of paid or volunteer experience working with individuals in the community   Preferred:  experience working with individuals with mental health issues
