We are currently seeking a Mid-level or Senior Analyst/Planner to join our diverse and talented team.
Summary: Responsible for assisting Project Managers with the preparation and coordination of land use documents and environmental analysis as required under CEQA, SMARA, and/or NEPA by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Technical:
- Demonstrates an advanced understanding of the principles and concepts of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Surface Mining and Reclamation Act (SMARA), and/or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
- Demonstrates practical experience in the application of CEQA, SMARA, and/or NEPA principles to the preparation and processing of use permit and/or reclamation plan application packages, environmental impact analysis, environmental impact reports, reclamation plans, staff reports, and other documents necessary to support approval of land use entitlements in California.
- Identifies project issues, information needs, or hindrances, propose potential solutions or additional information, and synthesize the issue for project manager review.
- Researches, prepares, and coordinates preparation of draft documents necessary to support approval of land use entitlements for project manager review with limited oversight.
- Supports Project Managers on an as needed basis with requested research and information to respond to Project requirements or client requests.
- Critiques, proofreads, edits, and incorporates technical analysis and sub consultant reports into draft environmental documents.
- Assigns work tasks to administrative staff and directs sub-consultants in preparation of environmental and planning documents or supporting technical studies.
- Responsible for technical competence and understanding of one or more environmental specialties such as land use, hydrology, air quality, noise, and hydrology.
Administrative:
- Completes assignments in a timely fashion, under strict timelines, or within an establish project schedule.
- Prioritizes competing assignments and communicates conflicting deadlines with staff, analysts, and Project Managers.
- Handles confidential information with professionalism, tact, and discretion.
- Supports Project Managers as needed in administrative functions.
- Ability to communicate assignments, deliverables, and other priorities during weekly staff meetings.
- Assists in the formatting, production, and delivery of work products.
Financial:
- Perform project assignments within established budgets. *
- Assist project managers with the estimating and budgeting of time for performance of work tasks.
Marketing:
- Assists Project Managers in the preparation of requests for proposals, statement of qualifications, and other marketing items as directed. *
- Participates in appropriate organizations, industry functions, and other promotional activities. *

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Outlook.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. / B. S.) from four-year college or university; Master’s Degree is encourage, but not required, and two to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

In addition to base salary, this job may be eligible to participate in our corporate discretionary bonus program, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all California based jobs. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar industry companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.
The base pay range for this position is: $70,000.00-$100,000.00
