We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mold Setter (Set Up). The Mold Setter is responsible for installing molds into injection molding machines, setting up auxiliary equipment, and ensuring all necessary folders and measuring devices are readily available at the machine. The Mold Setter will also perform safety checks on all injection molding machines at the beginning of each shift to ensure all safety guards are in place and functioning properly. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mold Installation & Setup:

    • Install and secure molds into injection molding machines according to standard procedures.
    • Set up all auxiliary equipment, including heating, cooling, and transfer systems.
    • Ensure all necessary folders, technical documentation, and measuring devices are properly placed and accessible at the machine.
  • Safety Checks:

    • Conduct thorough safety checks on injection molding machines and associated equipment before starting each shift.
    • Verify that all safety guards, mechanisms, and emergency stop functions are in place and fully operational.
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Machine Preparation:

    • Adjust machine settings (temperature, pressure, speed, etc.) based on mold specifications and production requirements.
    • Inspect and verify mold condition, cleanliness, and readiness for operation.
    • Collaborate with operators and technicians to ensure smooth machine start-up and consistent production flow.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Complete required documentation, including setup logs, safety checklists, and maintenance reports.
    • Communicate any issues or required adjustments to the production team or supervisor.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving mold or machine-related issues during the production process.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements, safety enhancements, and efficiency gains.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in manufacturing or related field is a plus.

  • Experience: Previous experience in injection molding setup, mold installation, or a related manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
    • Knowledge of injection molding machines, safety protocols, and auxiliary equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Basic understanding of measuring devices and quality control processes.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and move heavy molds and equipment.
    • Ability to stand, bend, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
    • Comfort with working around moving machinery and industrial equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard working hours: 2nd Shift, 2:50pm-11:30pm
  • Work in a production environment with potential exposure to loud noise, hot surfaces, and moving machinery.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided and required.
