The Wayfarer Restaurant is seeking a dependable and motivated Part-Time Prep Cook to join our culinary team. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen, take pride in preparing quality food, and thrive in a team-oriented environment, we'd love to hear from you.
This position is scheduled 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM and candidates must be available to work Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Additional shifts may be available based on business needs.
Compensation
$20.00 per hour
What You'll Do
- Prepare food using established recipes, production procedures, and quality standards.
- Learn menus, recipes, preparation techniques, and presentation standards.
- Determine food and supply needs using production systems and daily forecasts.
- Correctly prepare all food items, including special dietary requests, according to established recipes.
- Plan and organize food production to ensure quality, appearance, and proper serving temperatures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment used in food preparation.
- Complete prep work for upcoming shifts and the following day's service.
- Work collaboratively with cooks, servers, and managers to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Assist in resolving guest concerns related to food preparation and quality.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Oregon Food Handler Card required.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum one year of cooking experience in a restaurant, resort, or full-service hotel preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as business levels require.
- Team-oriented attitude with a positive approach to guest service.
