Who Are We Looking For?

The Senior Manager of National Retail Training will be a key driver of Superfeet’s sales growth strategy, leading our efforts to enhance retail education and training programs. This role is crucial to bridging product innovation and effective retail sales strategies by transforming cutting-edge research and biomechanics insights into compelling training materials. The Sr. Manager will work closely with the product innovation team to distill complex technical information into actionable and persuasive messaging for retail teams. This person will also act as a key ambassador for the Superfeet brand, establishing a strong presence with our retail partners and serving as a trusted business consultant for our brand. They will be responsible for guiding the development and education of our Field Experience Representatives (FXRs) and Sales Reps, ensuring that they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to effectively drive retail sales.

What You’ll Do:

  • Leadership of Retail Training Programs: Lead national retail training initiatives by collaborating closely with the product innovation and marketing teams. Tailor training to ensure that retail teams are well-versed in product benefits, biomechanics, and key selling points that resonate with customers.
  • Biomechanics & Product Messaging: Take complex biomechanics research, product innovations, and technical information and translate them into clear, engaging messaging that resonates with retail teams and ultimately boosts sales. Ensure that messaging is consistent across all retail channels.
  • Retail Consultant: Serve as the primary contact and trusted consultant for our retail partners in the footwear accessories and insole category. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key retail stakeholders to support Superfeet's strategic growth within retail locations.
  • Retail Regional Training Events: Plan and execute 8-10 regional training events across the country annually, in partnership with the Field Experience Representative (FXR) team. These events should foster engagement, provide hands-on learning opportunities, and inspire retailers to prioritize Superfeet products.
  • Development of Virtual Education Content: Work alongside the product marketing team to conceptualize and create virtual educational resources, such as webinars, training videos, and online modules, that support retail teams in building product knowledge and sales skills remotely.
  • Field Team Collaboration & Development: Partner with the Field Experience team to develop bi-annual clinic outlines that provide a structured approach to field sales education. Equip Field Sales Representatives with the tools they need to conduct effective, product-driven conversations with retail partners.
  • Mentorship of the FXR Team: Serve as a mentor and coach for the FXR team, providing ongoing education in biomechanics, product knowledge, and retail sales techniques. Regularly assess the training needs of the team and adjust training programs accordingly to optimize performance.
  • Integration with Education Team: Work as an active member of the Education team, sharing insights, feedback, and strategies for improving training efforts both in retail and the field. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on training goals and initiatives.
  • Superfeet University Partnership: Collaborate with the Vice President of Product and Innovation to develop and execute 3-4 Superfeet University events annually. These events should focus on in-depth product knowledge and the latest innovations within the footwear and insoles market.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collect feedback from retail partners, Field Experience Reps, and internal teams to continuously improve training programs and materials, ensuring they meet the needs of diverse audiences and stay relevant with industry trends.

Your Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in creating and delivering both in-person and virtual training programs
  • A deep understanding of biomechanics and how they relate to product design, comfort, and performance in the footwear industry
  • Previous experience with retail sales training or as a business consultant in a retail environment
  • Proficiency in using digital platforms and tools for virtual training delivery

Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in biomechanics, kinesiology, physiology, exercise science, human movement science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience in a related field may also be considered.
  • Experience in Retail Operations: Strong, proven experience in retail operations within the footwear or related industries. Understanding of retail store dynamics, consumer behavior, and how product knowledge translates to sales success.
  • Public Speaking Expertise: Established and exceptional skills as an engaging public speaker or lecturer. Ability to present complex information in a dynamic, clear, and accessible manner to a variety of audiences ranging from novice to expert.
  • Education & Training Ability: Ability to effectively educate and connect with beginner, intermediate, and advanced-level employees, whether they are outfitting staff, sales reps, or internal teams. Ability to adjust the training style to meet different learning preferences.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to simplify complex topics and present them in a way that is easy to understand and actionable.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel approximately 1 week per month for regional training events, partner meetings, and other key engagements across the country.

Compensation: $98,000 - $120,000 annually DOE

The Sr. Manager of National Retail Training is a dynamic and multifaceted role that plays a pivotal part in driving the success of Superfeet's retail presence and overall sales strategy. This person will directly impact how well our retail partners understand, sell, and advocate for our products, contributing to the growth and long-term success of Superfeet.
