Pay

  • $16.75–$21.75 per hour

Position Purpose

The Medication Technician (Med-Tech) is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of medications and treatments to residents in accordance with physician orders. This position also performs resident support services as directed in individual service plans and communicates medication-related concerns to physicians and leadership as appropriate.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of medication pass experience in a facility required

  • Successful completion of medication administration training, including documentation

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medication identification, use, purpose, adverse effects, and contraindications

  • Must maintain current certification or license

  • MA or CNA certification preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing


Essential Functions

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physician orders

  • Accurately document medication and treatment administration

  • Document events and incidents as required

  • Complete summary documentation in resident records

  • Provide direct care and resident services as needed

  • Communicate appropriately with residents, family members, physicians, support staff, and ancillary care providers

  • Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns as required
