Sheehy Lexus of Richmond is searching for an Experienced Service Manager (Lane Manager) who is motivated and serious about their career in this highly competitive industry. The Service Lane Manager is responsible for creating lifetime guests by delivering an unsurpassed guest experience. They will assist the Fixed Operations Director in running an efficient and profitable Service Department through productive staffing, guest retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the service department to ensure efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise and support Service Advisors and employees in the Service Drive, ensuring they meet performance objectives and uphold company standards.
- Manage workflow effectively to maximize productivity, efficiency, and technician utilization.
- Review open repair orders daily with the Fixed Operations Director to monitor progress and ensure timely completion.
- Train Service Advisors to greet every customer with professionalism, hospitality, and respect.
- Ensure Advisors clearly explain recommended repairs and maintenance in a way that builds customer understanding and trust.
- Provide technical assistance and mentorship to all department employees as needed.
- Establish and maintain strong, long-term guest relationships that foster repeat and referral business.
- Ensure all guests are greeted promptly, professionally, and courteously—both in person and over the phone.
- Handle customer concerns and complaints with professionalism, empathy, and swift resolution to maintain high satisfaction standards.
- Provide fair, transparent, and competitive pricing while documenting all communications in line with dealership and safeguard regulations.
- Ensure guest service files are accurate, up to date, and easily accessible.
- Direct, coordinate, and participate in performing customer service activities as dictated by workload to include cashier out any guest, schedule incoming and future appointments.
- Ensure all work is performed to proper specifications and quality standards; conduct quality checks as needed.
- Monitor department performance using tools such as Daily Operating Control, productivity reports, comeback reports, warranty reports, guest surveys, and monthly forecasts.
- Follow up on parts orders to confirm timely availability and minimize service delays.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to promote harmony, teamwork, and operational success.
- Always act in a professional manner that reflects the company’s commitment to quality, honesty, and integrity.
- Maintain a positive attitude and foster a collaborative team atmosphere.
- Prepare and execute monthly and annual business goals aligned with dealership objectives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service processes, guest satisfaction, and departmental performance.
Requirements
- Four year college or university program certificate
- Two to four years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Graduation from an industry-recognized training program is also preferred but not required.
- Ability to read, interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, volume, percentages, circumference, volume, etc.
- Reynolds and Reynolds experience, preferred but not required
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Authorized to work in the USA
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check, Motor Vehicle Record check, and drug test.
- Must have a valid driver's license
