Sales and Marketing Manager
Healthcare Outside Sales | Central Maryland Territory
Senior Helpers of Baltimore and Central Maryland
Full time • Field based • Pikesville office
$70,000 annual base salary plus a quarterly performance bonus
Reports to Cindy Cunningham, Director of Operations
Territory: Based from our Pikesville office, this field-based role develops referral relationships across our Central Maryland service area, including Pikesville, Owings Mills, Randallstown, Reisterstown, Stevenson, Windsor Mill, Catonsville, Ellicott City, and Woodstock. Regular local travel is required.
The opportunity
Help more Central Maryland families access quality care at home. We are seeking a self-starter with healthcare sales experience, strong local knowledge, and the discipline to turn relationships into measurable growth. You will own your territory plan, spend most of your week with referral partners, and have direct access to agency leadership and support from our office and assessment teams.
Why Senior Helpers
Senior Helpers of Baltimore and Central Maryland is Maryland’s first and only home care agency certified by CHAP for Age-Friendly Care at Home. Locally owned and operated, we help older adults maintain their independence and stay connected to what matters most. You will bring these strengths to referral partners:
- Age-Friendly Care grounded in the 4Ms: What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility.
- LIFE Profile assessments that help identify risks and guide personalized care recommendations.
- Senior Gems dementia care and specialized support for people living with Parkinson’s disease.
- Hands-on caregiver training through our Center of Excellence.
What you will do
- Grow your territory by developing new referral sources, reactivating dormant relationships, and increasing repeat referrals. Prioritize promising accounts and plan efficient weekly routes.
- Develop relationships with hospital discharge planners and case managers, rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities, senior living communities, home health and hospice agencies, physician practices, care managers, and relevant community organizations.
- Reach decision-makers through regular in-person introductions, appropriate drop-ins, meetings, calls, and email follow-up. Understand their needs and ask for appropriate referrals.
- Explain our services and care programs accurately through conversations, presentations, lunch-and-learns, and targeted community events coordinated with leadership.
- Build trust across the territory’s diverse communities and respect each family’s cultural, religious, and personal preferences.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, source attribution, and clear next steps. Review activity, referral outcomes, and territory priorities with Cindy each week.
- Coordinate prompt handoffs and track referrals through assessment and service start. Keep referral partners informed with appropriate permissions, escalate stalled opportunities, and bring service concerns to leadership.
How you will work with the team
This is an individual contributor role. The Sales Coordinator schedules assessments; the Client Care Coordinator or designated assessment team conducts them and manages enrollment. You remain accountable for the referral relationship. Operations confirms staffing and service availability, while you keep field outreach at the center of your work.
What you will bring
- Demonstrated success in healthcare or senior-services outside sales, including developing new referral sources and generating measurable growth. Three or more years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Pikesville and the broader Central Maryland territory, including healthcare and community resources. An established professional network among local healthcare providers, senior-service organizations, and community leaders is strongly preferred.
- Experience serving Jewish older adults and families, familiarity with Jewish customs and observances, and professional connections within Jewish community organizations are strongly preferred.
- Excellent organization and follow-through: the ability to plan a productive field schedule, document progress, and work independently.
- Strong listening, presentation, and relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals, community leaders, older adults, and families.
- Confidence using CRM software, email, calendars, and office tools to manage opportunities and report results.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the territory, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Availability for occasional community events outside standard business hours.
What success looks like
Success means more active referral partners, qualified referrals, and referral-sourced client growth, supported by meaningful field activity, consistent follow-up, and accurate CRM records. You will set goals and review results regularly with Cindy.
Apply with your resume and a brief example of how you developed a healthcare referral relationship into measurable business.
