Diesel Technician, Ford Certified

We are seeking to add an additional Ford Certified Diesel Service Technician to join our team. The role of the Diesel Mechanic is to perform repairs and maintenance on light and medium-duty diesel vehicles in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates should be motivated and committed to excellence.

This particular position is for a highly skilled, experienced technician with Ford dealership experience. This individual will have a proven track record of successfully fixing Powerstroke engines right the first time.

Responsibilities

• Read repair order, and verify customer's concern. 

• Follow a systematic process to identify the failure, and also the root cause.

• Perform inspections and make recommendations for required maintenance.

• Communicate effectively the reasons why each recommendation is being made, to avoid misunderstandings after the fact.  For example, distinguish between required repairs that address the customer's stated concerns, and required maintenance that may be needed for other reasons.
• Maintain high quality workmanship standards.
• Thoroughly document the diagnosis and repair information in the repair order. 
• Perform post repair road test to verify every repair, and take appropriate action when necessary.

• Tag all warranty parts and return to the parts department.

• Attend training classes and stay informed on factory technical bulletins.

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer happiness.

• Maintain your designated workspace in an organized and clean manner.

• Ensure guest vehicles are returned as clean as they were prior to being serviced.

• Show the utmost courtesy to all guests, visitors, and dealership personnel.

• Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management.

• Adhere to manufacturer’s policies and procedures as they relate to labor operations, time, and repair order documentation when performing warranty repairs and torque specifications

• Any other duties as outlined by the Service manager.
  
  Qualifications

• Ford Certification in Diesel Engine repair and Diesel Engine Performance

• Sate of Michigan certification in Diesel Engine Repair and Diesel Engine Performance

• Previous experience in a Ford dealership 

• Teammate with a strong sense of dedication to the customer and service team

• Self-motivated and professional
