JOB DESCRIPTION:  Tiki & Pool Bartender (Seasonal) 

 

DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage

STATUS: Non-exempt

 

Job Summary:

 

The Tiki & Pool bartender is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. Service guests by fulfilling their food and beverage needs and collecting payment. Tipped position.

 

Qualification Summary:

 

Required Experience and Education:

               Must be 21 years of age

               High school diploma/GED

1+ years of bartending experience

On the job training is provided

Preferred Experience and Education:

               Certifications as required by Federal, State, or Local agencies

ServSafe or TIPS Certification

Travel:

Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Physical:

Frequent sitting, standing, and moving about the facilities. Handling sharp objects, products and equipment. Using keyboards and other office computer equipment. Occasionally push, pull and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must observe details at close range.


Other:

Must speak English fluently. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Mathematical skills include basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages and variances. Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are often used. Ability to effectively multi-task.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Holds and maintains applicable certification requirements for position to include: Alcohol Awareness,  ServSafe, and any required certifications
  • Have a thorough knowledge of menus and applicable specials
  • Performs side duties, including cleaning, inventory, and organizing
  • Must work well in stressful high pressure situations maintaining composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Prepare garnishments for drinks.
  • Be able to operate the hotel computer system, Micros.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures along with side work as assigned.
  • Follow proper procedure regarding cash handling, following cash bank reconciliation and end of shift drop.
  • Maintain a clean bar
  • Know and comply with food handling and liquor laws.
  • Engage guests in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Perform all bar setup and restocking/replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
  • Resolve guest complains and perform service recover when required (and escalate to immediate supervisor if needed)
  • Any and all other duties as assigned

Organizational Structure:

 

This position reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager.
