Job Title: Director of Sales
Location: AC Hotel by Marriott Chesterfield
Reports to: General Manager
Position Overview:
The Director of Sales (DOS) is responsible for leading the sales effort at the AC Hotel by Marriott, ensuring revenue growth across all market segments. This individual plays a critical role in positioning the hotel competitively within the local market, forging strong client relationships, and driving group, transient, and corporate business. The DOS will embody the AC brand ethos—modern, refined, and purposefully designed for the next-gen traveler.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve hotel revenue goals (rooms, F&B, meeting space).
- Manage all sales activities including group, corporate, SMERF, and local negotiated segments.
- Identify and target new business opportunities via prospecting, networking, and market research.
- Maintain active involvement in the local business community and industry organizations.
- Conduct regular competitive set analysis and adjust strategies accordingly.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, accounts, and community partners.
- Lead sales presentations, site tours, and negotiations to convert leads to confirmed business.
- Handle high-level client inquiries and RFPs with professionalism and brand alignment.
Team Development & Collaboration
- Lead, coach, and develop any sales associates and/or coordinators.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management, Front Office, and F&B teams to ensure optimal execution of group and corporate bookings.
- Partner with the General Manager and Marriott global sales to support brand initiatives and shared accounts.
Performance Management & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics (occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share, etc.).
- Manage sales budgets and forecasts in alignment with hotel financial goals.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales activity reports and revenue performance updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, with a proven track record.
- Previous experience with Marriott systems (e.g., CI/TY, OneSource, SalesForce, MRDW) strongly preferred.
- Previous experience on Delphi system preferred.
- Strong knowledge of local and regional market dynamics.
- Proficiency in developing pricing strategies, negotiating contracts, and maximizing revenue.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Energetic, self-motivated, results-driven, and brand-savvy.
- Familiarity with AC Hotel brand standards is a plus.
