Experienced Automotive Transmission Technician

ob Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Transmission Technician with proven experience in diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding both automatic and manual transmissions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of drivetrain systems and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose transmission problems using diagnostic tools and test equipment.

• Remove, disassemble, inspect, and reassemble transmissions.

• Repair or replace faulty components (e.g., clutches, gears, seals, torque converters).

• Perform transmission fluid flushes and maintenance services.

• Work on both automatic and manual transmissions (including CVTs and DCTs).

• Road test vehicles to ensure proper repair and function.

• Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used.

• Collaborate with service advisors and other technicians to provide excellent customer service.

• Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a transmission technician or similar role.

• Certification from ASE or other recognized automotive training programs preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and service software.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Preferred Experience:

• Working with specific brands (e.g., GM, Ford, Dodge, Jeep, Toyota).

• Familiarity with electronic transmission control systems.

• Experience with performance or high-output transmission builds.

Work Environment:

• Full-time, typically in a dealership, repair shop, or transmission specialty center.

• Physical work requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
