Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Reports To: Executive Director – Post Acute Services 

Position Summary

St. Dominic Village, a faith-based senior living community, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality respiratory care to our residents. This role supports our mission of delivering exceptional, resident-centered care in a respectful and spiritually grounded environment.

 Key Responsibilities

• Assess and treat residents with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions

• Administer oxygen therapy, breathing treatments, and airway management

• Monitor resident response and adjust care as needed

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams

• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of respiratory equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy from an accredited program

• Current Texas Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT)

• BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)

 • Experience in skilled nursing, rehab, or acute care preferred

• Minimum of 1 year of respiratory care experience preferred (skilled nursing, rehab, or acute care experience strongly preferred)

• Geriatric experience a plus

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with:

o Medicare/Medicaid regulations

o State and federal guidelines

• Document treatments, resident responses, and progress notes

• Participate in audits and ensure regulatory compliance

Equipment & Safety 

• Ensure proper setup, use, cleaning, and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment

• Monitor oxygen systems and ensure safe usage throughout the facility

• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
