The Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Irvine Spectrum Lake Forest is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of hotel facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining a safe and functional environment for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventative Maintenance:
    Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance of the hotel's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC units, elevators, and lighting systems.
  • Repairs:
    Address maintenance requests and repairs in a timely manner, including guest room and public area issues such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry problems.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    Ensure all equipment is operating efficiently and safely, adhering to Hilton’s safety standards and local building codes. Maintain records of maintenance work and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Emergency Support:
    Respond to emergencies such as power outages, plumbing issues, and other urgent maintenance situations to minimize downtime and maintain hotel operations.
  • Guest Service:
    Provide excellent service when interacting with guests. Address maintenance concerns promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Inventory Management:
    Manage and track parts, tools, and supplies for the maintenance department, ensuring inventory levels are maintained.
  • Team Collaboration:
    Work closely with other departments such as Housekeeping and Front Desk to resolve maintenance issues that may affect guest satisfaction.
  • General Maintenance:
    Perform basic carpentry, painting, and repairs of hotel fixtures and equipment. Assist with upkeep of the exterior of the property, including landscaping and parking lot maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    Minimum 1 year of experience in hotel or commercial building maintenance. HVAC, electrical, and plumbing certifications are a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
    • Proficiency with power tools and general maintenance equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms.
    • Must be able to stand, walk, and work in various conditions for extended periods.
  • Availability:
    Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as well as be on call for emergencies.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational training or certification in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems is highly desirable.
