Position Summary

The Project Engineer, under direct supervision, assists in all aspects of project management including estimating, coordination of cost control, scheduling, reporting and document control activities. Assists in supporting positive client relationships. This position may be in the office or field, and travel may be required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supports day-to-day activities for a project.
  • Assists in the estimating efforts for a potential project.
  • Support subcontract awards and scope review process. Collaborates with SPM, PX’s for major awards. Take the lead role in awarding smaller scopes of work.
  • Responsible for the RFI and submittal process in collaboration with PM.
  • Administers the change management process in collaboration with PM or SPM.
  • Participates in subcontractor pre-construction meetings.
  • Runs or participates in OAC meetings and is responsible for drafting meeting minutes.
  • Supports, implements and tracks overall project schedule
  • Reports to PM and SPM regarding major issues relating to schedule, changes and field quality control.
  • Establishes protocol and monitors all subcontractor communication.
  • Supports all project start up processes.
  • Sets up process for online project management software (CMIC) and/or Procore.
  • Works hand in hand with project superintendent for all field related issues.
  • Assists with the payment application process and pencil draw review meetings with client.
  • Is responsible for maintaining and distributing all project document management and controls.
  • Works hand in hand with SPM and PM to track the permitting process
  • Participates and tracks BIM process.
  • Oversees the close-out documents process (O&M Manuals).
  • Manages and ensures the punch list is properly completed.
  • Oversees or prepares all documentation as required for LEED certified projects.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of experience or equivalent. General knowledge of construction principles preferred. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Must be adaptable, a self-starter and results- oriented.
