Job Summary:

The Hotel Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the laundry department within the hotel, ensuring the efficient and high-quality processing of linens, towels, and guest laundry. This role involves managing staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The Laundry Supervisor works closely with other hotel departments to meet guest expectations and maintain the hotel's reputation for exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management: Supervise, train, and schedule laundry staff to ensure efficient operation. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Address and resolve staff issues, including disciplinary actions if necessary.
  • Laundry Operations: Oversee the washing, drying, folding, and storage of hotel linens and guest laundry. Ensure laundry equipment is operated and maintained according to manufacturer guidelines. Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished laundry items for cleanliness, presentation, and any damage. Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain high standards. Address and resolve guest complaints related to laundry services promptly.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all laundry operations adhere to health and safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized laundry room, including proper handling of chemicals and waste. Conduct regular safety training and ensure staff compliance with safety protocols.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in laundry operations.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in management or hospitality is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Proficient in using laundry equipment and handling chemicals safely. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs). Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
