Job Overview: The Server is responsible for delivering great food and beverage services to all guests. The Server is primarily responsible for taking and entering food and beverage orders for patrons while maintaining a clean dining area. Servers are also responsible for turning tables, taking payment, and preparing for future service periods.
Reports To: Food and Beverage Manager, General Manager, Managing Partner
Essential Job Duties:
- Greet and seat customers and present menus in a timely manner.
- Make food and beverage recommendations and answer inquiries related to menu items.
- Verify legal drinking age on valid state issued identification.
- Take beverage and food requests from guests, promptly.
- Enter and send orders accurately into the POS system.
- Upsell drink and food items to customers.
- Promptly respond to requests from customers.
- Prepare checks and process customer payments accurately.
- Promptly bus, clean and reset tables for the awaiting patrons.
- Maintain clean and stocked service stations in the kitchen and in the Tiki Hut.
- Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies.
- Keep a personal bank.
- Conduct daily and weekly cleaning of service and beverage stations.
- Polish and roll silverware at beginning and end of shift.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry food service trays loaded with customer orders from kitchen to table.
- Ability to effectively communicate with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Working knowledge of standard restaurant service procedures.
- Capable of completing multiple tasks at the same time.
- Able to remain calm under pressure.
- Must physically be able to walk, stand, bend, stretch, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout shift.
- Must be able to push and pull heavy equipment through workspaces.
- Must be able to compute general mathematical problems.
