Hotel Manager

Description of the role:
We are seeking a skilled Hotel Manager to oversee the daily operations of Waynesville Inn & Golf, Tapestry by Hilton. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of hotel management and hospitality services. They will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hotel staff while assisting the General Manager in the development and communication of departmental strategies and goals.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate all hotel activities
• Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the hotel
• Ensure guest satisfaction and resolve any issues promptly
• Supervise Front Office, Housekeeping, and Accounts Payable staff and provide training as needed
• Assist in the development and implementation of business strategies to achieve overall goals
• Communicate and enforce policies and procedures
• Recommend and/or initiate salary, disciplinary, or other staffing/human resources-related actions
• Provide hands-on support for front office operations
• Provide hands-on support for Housekeeping operations
• Ensure accounts receivables are updated and invoices are sent and reconciled weekly
• Manage accounts payable and ensure timely payment of invoices. 
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and hotel assets
• Make recommendations for capital improvements
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Previous experience in hotel management
• Knowledge of front office, housekeeping, revenue, and reservation functions
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies
• Familiarity with hotel operations and industry trends

Travel:

• Less than 25% travel requirement
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation and the ability to run off-property errands with minimal notice

Physical:

• Frequent sitting, standing, and moving about the facilities.
• Handling objects, products and equipment.
• Using keyboards and other office computer equipment.
• Occasionally push, pull and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Skills:

• Must communicate information and ideas so others will understand
• Must observe details at close range
• Must speak English fluently
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• Mathematical skills include basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages and variances
• Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are often used
• Ability to effectively multi-task

Work Hours and Schedule:

This position may require flexibility in terms of work hours. While the standard work week is typically 40 hours, the demands of the role may frequently require additional hours. Typically weeks will range from 40 to 50 hours per week. The specific schedule and hours will be determined at the discretion of the Company based on business needs.
