Position Overview
The HR Coordinator provides day-to-day human resources support for employees and leaders within a fast-paced, customer-dedicated manufacturing and warehouse environment. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees while supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, attendance, payroll, benefits, leave administration, safety, training, and HR compliance.
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator works closely with plant leadership, supervisors, employees, and staffing partners to ensure HR processes are administered accurately and consistently. This is a hands-on, highly visible role that requires a strong presence on the production and warehouse floor and the ability to support employees across multiple shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Support

Serve as a primary point of contact for routine employee questions regarding policies, attendance, benefits, payroll, and workplace concerns

Support managers and supervisors with attendance, conduct, performance, documentation, and policy compliance

Promote consistent application of company policies across departments and shifts

Escalate complex, sensitive, or high-risk employee relations matters to the HR Manager
-
Maintain a visible HR presence on the production and warehouse floor and build strong relationships with employees and leadership
Recruiting, Staffing & Onboarding
-
Coordinate recruiting activities for production, warehouse, shipping, receiving, maintenance, and administrative positions
-
Post job openings, review applications, conduct initial phone screens, and coordinate interviews

Partner with staffing agencies regarding temporary labor needs, attendance, performance, conversions, and assignment changes
-
Track open positions, candidates, interviews, offers, start dates, and other recruiting metrics
-
Support job fairs, hiring events, and community recruiting efforts
-
Conduct new-hire orientation and communicate company policies, attendance expectations, safety requirements, GMP standards, and benefits
-
Complete and maintain required onboarding documentation, including Form I-9 and E-Verify
-
Coordinate employee badge access, system access, and required training
-
Support temporary-to-full-time conversions and introductory-period reviews

Coordinate employee offboarding, including documentation, exit interviews, and recovery of company property
Attendance, Timekeeping & Payroll Support
-
Review timecards for missed punches, scheduling discrepancies, overtime, shift differentials, and other issues

Partner with supervisors to ensure timecard corrections and approvals are completed accurately and on time

Track attendance occurrences, tardiness, absences, and related corrective action
-
Respond to routine employee questions regarding pay, deductions, PTO balances, and payroll corrections
-
Maintain accurate attendance and timekeeping records
Leave, Benefits & Employee Programs
-
Support administration of FMLA, personal leave, military leave, workers' compensation, and other applicable absences
-
Maintain communication with employees and managers regarding leave status, return-to-work dates, and work restrictions
-
Coordinate fitness-for-duty documentation and temporary work restrictions
-
Support the ADA interactive accommodation process under the direction of the HR Manager
-
Assist employees with benefit enrollment, qualifying life events, and benefit-related questions

Support annual open enrollment communications and employee meetings
-
Assist with employee recognition programs, service awards, engagement activities, and company events
-
Support unemployment claims, employment verifications, and required employee notices
Safety & Compliance
-
Support workplace injury reporting, incident documentation, and workers' compensation or occupational injury processes
-
Coordinate medical treatment, drug testing, work-status reports, and return-to-work documentation as required

Participate in safety meetings, incident investigations, corrective actions, and employee retraining
-
Monitor completion of required safety training, forklift certifications, PPE requirements, and other compliance activities
-
Support compliance with OSHA, GMP, AIB, food safety, and customer-specific requirements

Assist with safety and HR audits and maintain required documentation and records
Training & Employee Development
-
Coordinate required training for new hires, temporary employees, supervisors, and equipment operators

Maintain training records and monitor certification expiration and renewal dates
-
Support supervisor training related to attendance, documentation, interviewing, employee relations, and policy enforcement

Coordinate annual policy acknowledgments and refresher training
-
Support performance review and employee development processes
HR Administration & Reporting
-
Maintain accurate and confidential personnel, medical, training, leave, investigation, and disciplinary records
-
Audit employee files and records for missing, incomplete, or expired documentation
-
Prepare HR reports related to headcount, turnover, attendance, overtime, recruiting, temporary labor, and open positions
-
Support EEO-1, OSHA, audit, and other required regulatory reporting
-
Maintain required labor law postings and workplace notices
-
Protect confidential employee, medical, and company information at all times
Qualifications
-
2+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, food, packaging, or a similar high-volume environment
-
Working knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, attendance, payroll/timekeeping, benefits, and HR administration
-
Familiarity with employment practices and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and workers' compensation

Experience supporting an hourly workforce and working with temporary staffing agencies preferred

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR/timekeeping systems

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional early-morning, evening, or weekend coverage based on business needs
Working Conditions

Manufacturing and warehouse environment, including non-climate-controlled areas

Regular interaction with employees on the production and warehouse floor

Requires standing and walking for periods throughout the workday

Must be able to adjust schedule occasionally to provide HR support across multiple shifts
