Position: HR Manager
Reports To: President and COO
Location: Lansing, MI
Compensation: Exempt/Salary

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead recruitment and talent acquisition strategies to attract top talent
• Actively network within the local community, industry groups, and professional associations
• Represent the company at job fairs, community events, and networking functions
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
• Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
• Oversee performance management and employee development programs
• Coordinate training and development initiatives
• Identify learning needs and manage internal/external training resources
• Ensure legal compliance with employment laws and regulations
• Collaborate with department heads on workforce planning and organizational development
• Approve payroll and ensure compliance
• Complete annual budget tasks
• Supervise and mentor the HR Generalist
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a managerial role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
• Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
• Ability to exercise judgment, discretion, and maintain confidentiality
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Experience in property management, real estate, or multi-site organizations is a plus
Minimum Physical Expectations:
• Frequent keyboarding, sitting, phone work, and/or filing
• Extensive time working on a computer
• Lifting under 25 lbs.
• Occasional travel by car
• Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and/or twisting
• Close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Must hear and speak clearly for extended periods (in English)
