Description:
The Candidate will work at the direction of the VP of Finance on financial activities of the corporation. They will be involved in the preparation of financial reports and statements, ensuring the accuracy and dependability of the systems that flow into them, including the culmination in the annual audit(s).
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
- Coordinating activities of external auditors
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
- Integrating acquisitions utilizing Corporate best practices
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
- Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
- Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
- Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
- Contribute to the budget process
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Candidate must have solid communication, technological, analytical and management skills.
- Should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Familiar with the credit and collections process
Education and Experience:
- Requires at least 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Previous experience in Big 4 public accounting is highly valued.
- CPA preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
