Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
- Assist with medication administration following proper protocols and medical documentation standards while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Observe patients closely for changes in condition or behavior and report findings promptly to healthcare professionals
- Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks like laundry and meal preparation in accordance with health standards
- Document patient interactions thoroughly using electronic record keeping systems to ensure accurate condition monitoring records are maintained
Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification or HHA certification required; prior experience in nursing homes or home health preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and caregiving best practices for senior care, dementia, and memory support
- CPR certification is required; additional certifications such as medication technician is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in assisted living environments is highly valued
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced settings
- Strong communication skills and compassion for providing patient-centered care
- Familiarity with electronic record keeping software and adherence to HIPAA privacy standards
