FOR THE RIGHT PERSON, THIS IS THE OPPORTUNITY OF A CAREER

Before you read another word, ask yourself one question: Are you the kind of person who wants to build something with a company that has been in business for 25 years, has a stellar reputation, is ranked in the top 10 in the world at what they do, yet no one knows who they are? I am not sure you even knew who PlanITROI was before reading this.

Gartner, Microsoft, the International Association of IT Asset Managers, and many more recognize PlanITROI as the world's leader in Lifecycle Services and IT Asset Disposition, focused on reuse as intended use.

We are the world's leader in transforming someone's nothing and turning it into someone's everything. We have created our own 501(c)(3) called the Digital Dreams Project, where we have impacted over 1 million people's lives who needed affordable technology. This story has never been told properly. We are looking for the right person who can tell the story. For the right person, this is the most important opportunity they will read this year.

If this sounds like the kind of challenge and opportunity you have been looking for, keep reading.

Celebrating 25 years in business, PlanITROI is the world's greatest Lifecycle Services and ITAD company.

PlanITROI is committed to the future of lifecycle services, often coined and built terminology used around the globe. The phrase "reuse as intended use," now used by analysts at Gartner, was coined by PlanITROI. We are also the world's leader in delivering repaired, refurbished, and re-certified computing technology directly to the next user, and we are the top key supplier to organizations like Best Buy, Walmart, Target, eBay, Amazon, etc. We are an asset to businesses that need this in their portfolio. Corporations like GSK, Procter & Gamble, Visa, and Paycom count on our lifecycle services to provide data destruction and other critical services that keep their technology lifecycles running.

PlanITROI is ready to invest in the brand, inbound engine, website, thought leadership platform, and PR presence we have earned and deserve. You will build all of it. Everything you create will be yours. You are coming into a world-class, 25-year-old organization with a story that has never been told the way it deserves to be told. You are the architect.

You own it, you solve it, and you get it done.

The mission matters too. This is not another B2B software company selling platforms. PlanITROI exists to provide affordable technology to people who need it most. Over 1 million lives have been changed through our Digital Dreams program. That combination of enterprise credibility, 25 years of operational excellence, and genuine social purpose is almost impossible to find in a senior B2B marketing role. It exists here.

You will market to the most prestigious ICP worldwide. Fortune 500 companies, global financial institutions, major healthcare systems, and federal agencies. Every piece of content you create, every campaign you launch, every story you tell is aimed at the people who run technology at the largest organizations on earth. That is a career-defining stage. You will have a direct line to a visionary leadership team that thinks in decades, not quarters, and that will trust you to translate that vision into a brand the market cannot ignore.

You will have a level of access, trust, and ownership that creates a rare opportunity to make a lasting impact.

When you deliver, the path to CMO is real, and it is fast. PlanITROI is scaling and at its next stage of growth. The person who builds this marketing function owns everything that comes after it.

ARE YOU THE RIGHT FIT? ASK YOURSELF THESE QUESTIONS

The right person for this role will read this list and feel energized. If you can answer yes to everything here, we want to hear from you.

  • You are energized by the opportunity to build from the ground up at a company with 25 years of reputation and credibility. A blank canvas and real ownership excite you.
  • You have a trusted network of freelancers, content creators, video producers, and specialist resources you can deploy.
  • You have personally owned a full website rebuild from strategy through launch, and you can point us to the live site.
  • You think strategically and know how to direct specialists. You bring the vision and the plan.
  • You can form a clear, confident point of view quickly. You listen deeply, learn the business, and turn what you learn into a concrete plan.
  • You research before you contact us. You understand PlanITROI, our competitors, and where there is opportunity for growth.
  • Digital Dreams and the impact on more than 1 million lives genuinely move you. The mission is part of the reason you want to show up.

WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO SOLVE

PlanITROI has built a world-class operation, but our brand, digital presence, and marketing engine have not kept pace with the company we have become. We are too invisible in the channels where our future clients are researching, learning, and making decisions. We lack a cohesive marketing strategy and the infrastructure to execute one consistently. Our story, our capabilities, our innovation, and our impact are not reaching the people who need to hear them.

This role exists to close that gap through strategic leadership, modern marketing expertise, and the brand infrastructure required to make PlanITROI impossible to ignore.

WHAT YOU MUST BRING WITH YOU ON DAY ONE

PlanITROI is ready to invest and build at the speed envisioned; you must arrive already equipped.

We are not constructing a large internal marketing department on day one. The expectation is that you bring a trusted bench of external resources who know how you operate and can begin contributing immediately.

If you can answer yes to all six questions below, you are exactly the kind of marketing leader we want to meet.

  1. Do you have freelancers, content creators, video producers, designers, and other specialists you could activate in your first week?
  2. Do you have PR and media contacts in B2B technology or IT services who know you and will take your call?
  3. Do you have web development and design partners you trust to execute a full website rebuild?
  4. Do you have SEO, GEO, and AEO capability either within your own practice or through a proven partner?
  5. Have you successfully directed specialist agencies toward clearly scoped deliverables without becoming dependent on large retainers or losing control of the strategy?
  6. Do you have a fully formed, opinionated point of view on what a modern B2B inbound engine looks like and a track record of building one?

WHAT THE PERFECT CANDIDATE LOOKS LIKE

  • You have built your career in growth-stage or mid-market B2B technology environments where resources were lean, the playbook was not handed to you, and the results were yours to own.
  • You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where momentum, responsiveness, and high-quality execution matter.
  • You have marketed to Fortune 500 procurement leaders, global CIOs, IT Directors, and enterprise decision-makers. You understand their buying cycles, their language, and what gets their attention.
  • Your background includes B2B hardware, IT services, managed services, device lifecycle, SaaS, or an adjacent technology category.
  • You are equally comfortable developing the story and building the machine that delivers it.
  • You understand the difference between pursuing perfection and delivering excellent work with speed, judgment, and attention to detail.

This role operates in Eastern Time.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience with significant leadership responsibility.
  • Growth-stage or startup background where you personally built marketing infrastructure, teams, programs, and processes.
  • Enterprise B2B ICP fluency, including experience marketing to Fortune 500 and global enterprise buyers.
  • B2B technology background, ideally in hardware, IT services, managed services, lifecycle services, SaaS, or an adjacent category.
  • Proven brand builder with experience developing positioning, messaging, and market presence.
  • Storyteller and executor: Writes compelling narratives AND builds the systems that deliver them at scale.
  • Demonstrated PR and thought leadership results.
  • Experience owning a full website rebuild from strategy through launch.
  • Strong command of modern marketing tools, AI, automation, and data.
  • Practical understanding of SEO, GEO, and AEO.
  • Ready-to-deploy network of external marketing specialists and resources.
  • Strong vendor manager: Builds lean teams, deploys external resources strategically, and holds every person and agency accountable to specific outcomes and deadlines.
  • Agile under pressure and comfortable adapting as priorities evolve.
  • Thinks in years and executes in weeks.
  • Owns the role: Sets priorities, meets deadlines, holds themselves to high standards, and communicates proactively.
  • Mission-driven: PlanITROI's Digital Dreams program has impacted over 1 million lives with affordable technology. If that does not genuinely move you, this is not the right role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Website Strategy & Rebuild

  • Lead the end-to-end strategic rebuilding of the PlanITROI website.
  • Audit existing sites across SEO, GEO, AEO, conversion, content, messaging, and user experience.
  • Create a digital experience that tells the full PlanITROI story and positions the company as the market leader.
  • Own the project roadmap and timeline; manage every internal and external resource through execution and launch with clear accountability to agreed timelines and outcomes.

Thought Leadership & PR

  • Build and execute a thought leadership strategy that establishes PlanITROI and its executives as recognized voices in Lifecycle Services, ITAD, sustainability, reuse, and the circular economy.
  • Develop executive narratives, byline content, speaking opportunities, media relationships, and industry visibility.
  • Build a proactive PR engine that earns meaningful coverage and strengthens market reputation.

Inbound Marketing & Digital Visibility

  • Build a modern B2B inbound marketing engine from the ground up.
  • Develop strategies that increase visibility, engagement, qualified traffic, and enterprise opportunities.
  • Own SEO, GEO, AEO, content strategy, campaign strategy, digital performance, and attribution.
  • Ensure PlanITROI is visible wherever enterprise buyers are researching Lifecycle Services and ITAD solutions.

Brand Strategy & Messaging

  • Clarify and strengthen brand positioning, messaging, and brand architecture.
  • Translate a complex 25-year company story into clear, compelling language the market understands.
  • Create consistency across digital, sales, executive communications, events, PR, and customer-facing materials.
  • Build a brand that reflects the quality, innovation, scale, and impact of the organization behind it.

Executive Presence & Physical Events

  • Build the strategy that strengthens PlanITROI's executive presence in the market.
  • Identify and pursue high-value speaking opportunities, conferences, industry events, and thought leadership platforms.
  • Ensure physical events reinforce the broader brand and growth strategy rather than operating as isolated marketing activities.

Team Building & External Resource Management

  • Build a lean, high-output marketing function.
  • Determine what capabilities belong internally and what should be supported through specialized external resources.
  • Hold every external vendor and resource accountable to clear deadlines, defined quality standards, and measurable outcomes, with a strong focus on results.
  • Provide clear strategic direction so specialists understand exactly what they are building, why it matters, and what success looks like.
  • Identify capacity or capability gaps early and bring forward practical, costed solutions.

30 / 60 / 90-DAY PLAN

  • First 30 Days: Listen, Learn, and Assess
  • Days 31 to 60: Build the Foundation
  • Days 61 to 90: Launch and Measure

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE AT ONE YEAR

By year one, PlanITROI looks and sounds like the market industry leader it is. Our website is a powerful sales and recruiting asset, our brand is consistent and recognizable, and our thought leadership is reaching the right audiences. Inbound opportunities are growing with clear attribution, sales have a strong content engine supporting active deals, and our executives are earning greater visibility through publishing, media, and speaking opportunities. The marketing function operates with clear strategy, ownership, and measurable results.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE AT THREE YEARS

By year three, PlanITROI is a recognized category leader in Lifecycle Services and ITAD. We are on the shortlist for major enterprise opportunities because the market already knows and trusts our brand. Inbound marketing is a meaningful contributor to revenue, Digital Dreams is recognized as a powerful ESG differentiator, and our brand, reputation, and thought leadership create a competitive advantage that is difficult to replicate. The leader who built it has earned the opportunity to step into the CMO role.

WHO WINS AT PlanITROI

The marketing leaders who thrive at PlanITROI share a few important qualities. They can translate our story in a way that resonates with the market, balance strategic thinking with strong execution, and remain curious and open to new approaches. They know how to build and lead the right mix of internal and external resources while maintaining clear ownership of outcomes. Most importantly, they learn quickly, adapt confidently, and turn what they learn into action. Here is what that looks like in practice.

  • You form a point of view quickly, and you voice it with confidence. You listen closely, learn the business, and then bring a clear, specific perspective and concrete recommendations that move the work forward.
  • You translate the story, and you make it land. One of the most important opportunities in this role is translating everything PlanITROI is and making the outside world understand and feel it. The right person will see the power of our story and build the language, messaging, and platform that carries it into the world.
  • You stay ahead of where marketing is going. GEO, AEO, AI-native search, emerging channels, and changing buyer behavior are part of the way you think about the future of marketing.
  • You build a machine, not a collection of projects. Everything connects. Brand, content, inbound, PR, digital, sales enablement, executive visibility, and events work together as one system.
  • You move fast and build things that last. Perfect is the enemy of done. You execute relentlessly.
  • You pivot without losing the team or the output. Priorities change. Opportunities emerge. You adapt while maintaining momentum and accountability.
  • You maintain ownership when external resources are involved. You do not allow anything to slip because someone externally holds the dependency.
  • You think three years ahead while executing this week. You are building the marketing organization PlanITROI will need as it grows, not simply solving today's problems.
  • You operate at the standard of the CMO role you have the opportunity to earn.

PlanITROI offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and more. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and value diversity at all levels of the organization.
