Intro/Job Brief
The role of Technical Lead Consultant is to lead and manage projects from a technical perspective. Oversee and delegate project assignments and deliverables. Provide quality control, peer review and constructive feedback on project assignments. Prepare experts for meetings, depositions, trials, mediations and preparation of technical reports including presentations associated with the projects. Work in collaboration with other project team members.
General Objectives
- The TL is expected to be able to perform the same duties as a TC.
- Lead and manage assigned projects from start to finish.
- Be a mentor and leader to other team members: TAs, TCs, PCs, PMs.
- Collect, Review, Understand, Analyze, and Summarize documents and information
- Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more disciplines.
- Attend regular team meetings and offer expertise, insight, and recommendations for project improvement.
- Ensure project guidance and contribution amount is adequate and maximizing PFCS success/profitability.
- Report all project activity and status to Project Expert.
- Act as a mentor to other practice area and project technical staff.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities
- Understand the project objective and keep the big picture in mind.
- Collaborate and communicate regularly with the PM, PC, Expert and any other team member.
- Engage team members and manage the project deliverables.
- Translate lessons learned to the rest of the PFCS team (how can we build from this project, how can we teach others about this, how can we do better next time).
- Assess resources to ensure the appropriate team has been assembled.
- Delegate project work to other team members.
- Work with the PC to manage the project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Assess risks (internal and external) and provide mitigation strategies or potential solutions.
- Take ownership of the project analysis including the Technical Summary.
- Be the driver of the technical aspect of the project.
- Engage in Project Planning Meetings and Project Status Meetings.
- Peer review the analysis of other team members and offer feedback for improvement.
- Work with the PC to ensure the Basic Analysis is accurate and up to date.
- Prepare top-level analysis for Experts including reports, talking points, and presentations.
- Prepare Experts for meetings, mediations, and testimony.
- Inspect structures and building sites; rigorously document with photographs, notes, diagrams and checklists.
- Conduct research and gather data for use in investigations, according to PFCS standards.
- Collect, review, summarize, understand, and analyze documents and information.
- Write reports and analysis consistent with PFCS standards.
- Communicate project data and opinions professionally and concisely.
- Attend meetings and mediations with clients and others to gather project information or present PFCS work, in coordination with the Technical Expert or Project Coordinator.
- Track time billed to clients and maintain billable hour targets.

Compensation range depends on experience: $ 100,500.00-160,900.00
