We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Automotive Detailer to join our dealership's reconditioning team. In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning, restoring, and maintaining the appearance of both new and pre-owned vehicles. Your work will directly impact our showroom display, lot presentation, and final customer deliveries. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering showroom-quality results.

Core Responsibilities
  • Wash, dry, and polish vehicle exteriors to eliminate dirt, road grime, and minor imperfections.
  • Clean and detail vehicle interiors thoroughly, including vacuuming, shampooing rugs, steam cleaning upholstery, and wiping down all surfaces.
  • Apply wax, paint sealants, or protective coatings to preserve vehicle finishes and bodywork.
  • Clean engine bays and compartments using appropriate steam-cleaning and degreasing techniques.
  • Apply revitalizers, conditioners, and preservation agents to interior vinyl, leather, plastic, and rubber surfaces.
  • Clean and streak-proof all interior and exterior windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
  • Prepare newly arrived inventory for the sales lot by removing shipping wraps, inspecting for transport damage, and completing initial cleanings.
  • Execute "delivery cleans" on sold vehicles to ensure they are spotless and ready for the customer.
  • Safely operate dealership equipment, including high-pressure washers, rotary buffers, vacuums, and extractors.
  • Move, park, and maneuver inventory vehicles safely around the dealership lot and service bays.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while strictly adhering to chemical and tool safety protocols (OSHA/SDS).
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record (required to move inventory).
  • Previous experience in professional automotive detailing or a car wash environment is highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet sales and delivery deadlines.
  • Must pass standard pre-employment screening, including a background check.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to perform physically demanding manual labor for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort working in various weather environments, as some tasks occur outdoors or in open service bays.
  • Exposure to typical detailing elements, including water, vibration, noise, and cleaning chemicals (appropriate PPE will be provided)
