Position Overview:
Olathe Ford Lincoln is seeking an experienced Gas Engine Drivability Technician to join our Central Vehicle Center (CVC). This role is ideal for a highly skilled Ford technician with advanced diagnostic capabilities and a strong understanding of Ford vehicle systems, electronics, and engine performance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience diagnosing and repairing complex gas engine drivability concerns and be proficient with Ford diagnostic platforms, including FDRS (Ford Diagnostic and Repair System) and IDS (Integrated Diagnostic System).

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex gasoline engine drivability concerns.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics on Ford-specific systems and components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair:
    • Check Engine Light and Wrench Light concerns
    • Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) systems
    • Ignition systems
    • Gasoline fuel injection and fuel delivery systems
    • Engine management and control systems
    • Electronic modules and related components
    • Advanced vehicle networking and communication systems
  • Perform wire repairs and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Program and configure vehicle modules.
  • Complete mechanical repairs related to engine performance concerns.
  • Accurately document diagnostic findings and repairs.
  • Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians and service management to resolve challenging vehicle concerns.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Previous Ford diagnostic and repair experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Ford vehicle systems and drivability diagnostics.
  • Proficiency with Ford FDRS and IDS diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Electronics and electrical diagnosis
    • Engine performance systems
    • Vehicle communication networks
    • Module programming
    • Fuel and ignition systems
  • Ability to accurately diagnose complex concerns and determine effective repair solutions.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred

  • Ford Senior Master Technician certification.
  • ASE certifications related to engine performance and electrical systems.
  • Experience mentoring or assisting less experienced technicians.
