Licensed Massage Therapist
The spa department is responsible for creating an ambience of relaxation, healing, and renewal. Our sanctuary is located on our serene mezzanine level of the resort overseeing the ocean. We have 14 treatment rooms, a relaxing spa lounge, sauna, steam room, fitness center, whirlpool, and a swimming pool for the ultimate spa experience.
Job Summary:
The Licensed Massage Therapist performs professional modalities & treatments to relieve pain, tightness, and soreness due to post workouts, arthritis, repetitive strain injuries and light to med pressure for overall relaxation. The LMT we are seeking will be responsible for creating a unique & memorable experience for our guests by listening to their needs and concerns.
Pay Rate:
This is a commission-based position. If your commission earnings fall below New Jersey's required minimum wage, your gross pay will be adjusted to meet the state's minimum wage of $15.49 per hour
Essential Job Functions:
- Must have be able to work an evening & one weekend shift
- Must be able to work until 7pm
- Must be able to perform deep tissue & therapeutic massage
- Must be able to explain the intake form, revise it with client, and take SOAP notes.
- Performs professional massage therapy and body treatments as licensed.
- Conducts individualized treatments, tailoring services according to guest needs
- Maintains excellent knowledge of the muscles and body.
- Creates exceptional experiences for clients through a friendly and helpful attitude
- Maintains the professionalism and cleanliness of therapy rooms and common areas
- Ensures appointments are on time, communicating delays as necessary
- Accurately promotes Spa services and retail in a courteous and informative manner.
- Responsible for pre-setting and re-setting each treatment room.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of all trends and developments within the professional spa
community related to products, treatment and techniques.
- Maintains knowledge of Spa, hotel, and community events to accurately and clearly communicate information to guests and employees.
- Performs related duties as requested by management.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Current NJ Massage Therapy license required.
- Current liability insurance
- An additional license must be obtained from the town of Long Branch.
- Previous experience as massage therapist or advanced massage training preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Advanced training with career interest in a related
Industry is preferred.
- Superior customer service and interpersonal skills required; we must enjoy working with people.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and guests orally and in writing.
- Must be able to always maintain a professional appearance.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Flexibility to be cross trained in other spa functions/services preferred.
Physical Qualifications:
- Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
