We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining financial records. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and proficiency in accounting software. The Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Review vendor invoices for proper documentation and approval before processing.
  • Manage the AP mailbox and respond to vendor inquiries promptly.
  • Process paper check payments and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Handle inter company invoice processing.
  • Collaborate with Managers for invoice approvals.
  • Conduct vendor aging reviews and research outstanding invoices.
  • Perform account reconciliation to verify the accuracy of transactions.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends or issues that may require attention.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is collected for new vendor setups.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and other accounting projects as needed.
  • Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate coding to the general ledger.
  • Process monthly AR statements to customers.
  • Receipt and apply AR payments as received.
  • Provide information to AR customers as requested.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with general ledger accounting and account reconciliation processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
