Where and how you can work

Ravenswood is the home to our headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. We take pride in having a friendly, open office life that is relaxed and honest. We truly want you to come to work as your whole self. As a flexible-first organization, this role requires the Data Associate to be onsite at the office two-three days a week.

About the Role

As a Data Associate, you'll be the go-to expert for our clients' most complex data file challenges. Working as part of our client-facing Data Strategy Group, you'll help clients navigate tricky data file situations and ensure their documents and files are properly processed and loaded into our platform. You'll be solving file format puzzles, managing data imports, and making the seemingly impossible file conversions look effortless, all while helping our clients achieve successful data ingestion.

This is a fast-paced role where every day brings new file format challenges, but if you're someone who gets energized by troubleshooting data files and loves seeing your work directly impact client success, you'll thrive here. You'll also be part of an on-call rotation for periodic after-hours and weekend support, which happens about one week every two months.

Responsibilities:

  • Master Complex Data File Processing: You'll strategize and execute large-scale data file imports and legacy platform migrations, handling various file formats and ensuring our clients' documents transition seamlessly into the Nextpoint ecosystem.

  • Be a Client File Processing Expert: Working directly with clients on their most challenging data file projects, you'll provide expert consultation on file formats, clear pricing quotes for processing services, and regular progress updates that keep everyone informed and confident.

  • Drive File Processing Innovation: You'll contribute to our ever-evolving library of file processing solutions, documenting your findings and creating conversion scripts that make future file processing projects more efficient and effective for the entire team.

  • Manage Your Processing Queue Like a Pro: Organizing and overseeing your personal data file intake queue, you'll ensure processing deadlines are met and stakeholders stay updated on progress.

  • Bridge Technical File Format Gaps: When file format issues need escalation, you'll be the crucial link between clients and our Software Engineering Teams, ensuring file processing problems get resolved quickly and efficiently.

  • Deliver File Processing Excellence Under Pressure: Working within tight deadlines in our fast-paced environment, you'll consistently deliver high-quality file processing results that exceed client expectations.

Qualifications:

  • You have a solid foundation with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, Legal, or related fields, or you've built up the experience to back it up.

  • You're technically savvy with advanced Excel skills (vlookups, macros, formulas) and experience manipulating file data to solve real problems.

  • You know your way around document load files like DAT, OPT, CSV, and LFP formats, and you're comfortable working with file formats from both macOS and Windows applications. You can utilize third-party software to perform file format conversions when necessary.

  • Technical troubleshooting is your thing. You can diagnose data file corruption issues, navigate file transfer problems, and solve various file format challenges that come your way.

  • You've got experience with support or ticketing systems like Zendesk or Jira, and you know how to manage file processing workflows efficiently.

  • Communication's your superpower. You're great at translating complex file format concepts into language that clients can understand and act on, both written and verbal.

  • You thrive under pressure and have a proven track record of working within tight deadlines while maintaining incredible attention to detail in file processing tasks.

  • You're client-service oriented with excellent organization skills and the ability to accurately determine what clients really need for their file processing requirements, then take ownership of making it happen.
