Ravenswood is the home to our headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. We take pride in having a friendly, open office life that is relaxed and honest. We truly want you to come to work as your whole self. As a flexible-first organization, this role requires the Billing Specialist to be onsite at the office two-three days a week.
The impact you’ll make

Collaborate Closely with Cross-Functional Teams: You’ll work hand-in-hand with Sales, Customer Success, and clients to streamline financial operations and address billing issues. Your role will be crucial in ensuring seamless invoicing and payment processes, while also contributing to the broader financial health of the company.

Clearly Communicate Financial Insights: You’ll explain financial processes, reports, and data in a clear, straightforward way to ensure that both internal teams and clients are on the same page. Whether it’s resolving a billing question or presenting a report to management, your communication will keep everyone aligned.

Take a Systems Approach to Financial Operations: You’ll manage accounts payable, receivable, and the general ledger with a focus on process efficiency. Your efforts will help ensure that financial systems are scalable, accurate, and set up for long-term success.

Advocate for Financial Excellence: You’ll be the go-to person for invoicing and billing, always pushing for process improvements and solutions that drive growth and profitability. Your attention to detail and proactive problem-solving will make a big impact on Nextpoint’s financial health.

Make Financial Processes Understandable for Everyone: You’ll break down complex financial information into digestible reports, ensuring that even non-finance team members can understand and contribute to key financial decisions.

Drive Financial Impact: You’ll contribute to financial processes that bring real value to the company—from reconciling books and preparing tax filings to collaborating on forecasts and budget planning, ensuring Nextpoint's financial operations are both smooth and impactful.
Your Expertise
-
Whether you’ve earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or gained equivalent hands-on experience, you have the expertise to excel in this role.

You bring 3-5 years of experience in accounting, which has equipped you with a solid foundation in financial operations.

You’re confident working with tools like QuickBooks, Maxio, and SaaSOptics, and you’ve demonstrated the ability to quickly learn new software.

You understand the complexities of managing finances in SaaS environments or fast-growing startups, and you have a working knowledge of GAAP principles.

Experience in the legal industry is a strong plus, as it will further enhance your ability to navigate complex financial processes.

You know how to juggle multiple responsibilities—from reconciling books to managing client billing inquiries—while maintaining precision and attention to detail.

You’re an effective communicator, able to collaborate across teams and with clients, whether discussing financial processes or presenting key findings.

Staying organized and maintaining professionalism comes naturally to you, and you thrive in environments that require both autonomy and adaptability.

You are legally authorized to work in the United States.
