PURCHASING BUYER/EXPEDITER/PLANNER
Compensation: $29.00 - $51.25/hr
Monday - Friday: 9am - 5pm
Summary
This position is responsible for purchasing and coordinating the timely availability and delivery of products to meet both customer and production needs.
Essential Functions
- Perform purchasing activities for the plant and monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability to meet customer orders and production requirements. Review scheduled and projected requirements to determine purchasing needs and maintain inventory as needed.
- Determine how and when to place orders based on corporate policies, plant procedures and budget requirements.
- Verify pricing, freight and other charges on all orders. Ensure that billed data matches the price quotes before releasing data for processing. Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies as required.
- Coordinate with other departments to update and/or expedite purchase orders based on changing requirements and purchasing history.
- Review inventory levels to identify shortages, excess inventory or discrepancies and take appropriate corrective action.
- Enter and track supplier deviations and associated credits.
- Assist Department by establishing and maintaining records, updating system data and by performing various clerical functions as directed.
- Provide inventory assistance as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma plus 2 years of college or equivalent education, training, and/or experience.
- Minimum 6 months experience in purchasing/buyer role within the food production industry.
- Ability to pass Comprehension and Math Tests
- Must have Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, and AS 400.

General office setting.
