Position Overview
Neulife Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support our licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitative care. This role is essential in helping patients recover from injury, surgery, or neurological conditions by improving mobility, reducing pain, and restoring functional independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver physical therapy interventions based on established plans of care under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
- Administer therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, balance training, and functional mobility activities
- Utilize therapeutic modalities as appropriate (e.g., electrical stimulation, ultrasound, heat/cold therapy) in accordance with state regulations and clinic protocols
- Accurately document patient treatments, responses, and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR) in a timely manner
- Monitor patient status and report changes, concerns, or progress to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist in modifying treatment techniques within the established plan of care to meet patient needs
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs (HEP), safety, and injury prevention strategies
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, payer guidelines, and company policies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient-centered care planning
- Support clinic flow, including patient preparation and equipment setup
Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current, active Florida PTA license in good standing
- CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, modalities, and documentation standards
- Familiarity with EMR systems and basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient engagement skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
- New graduates welcome; prior outpatient, inpatient, or neuro rehab experience preferred
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients weighing up to 50–100 lbs with appropriate assistive devices or team support
- Manual dexterity to provide hands-on therapeutic interventions and operate rehabilitation equipment
- Ability to respond quickly to patient needs, including guarding against falls
- Tolerance for a physically active role involving repetitive movements and sustained activity
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to monitor patient performance and safety
- Work environment includes a clinical setting with exposure to medical equipment and patients with varying physical conditions
Compensation & Benefits
