Medical Transport Driver
Neulife is currently seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Transport Driver to join our team. The transport staff plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of people served between our facility and various destinations. This position requires a responsible, compassionate individual who can maintain professionalism and communicate effectively with staff, while always treating the individuals in our care with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport persons served from scheduled locations to appointments, including medical care, basic care services, stores, or other destinations as part of their treatment plan.
- Adhere to traffic laws and speed limits, and adjust driving based on weather conditions to ensure safety.
- Follow designated routes set by the administrator, case managers, nurses, department heads, transportation manager, or use an approved GPS system.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance such as refueling, keeping the vehicle clean, and promptly reporting any serious issues or mechanical concerns.
- Maintain open communication with nurses and staff; ensure polite and professional exchanges.
- Act as a liaison between the person served and outside healthcare providers or other service entities.
- Assist the person served with paperwork, appointments, and coordination with nurse/case managers during visits.
- Provide basic care during transport, such as assisting with meals, changing briefs, and taking vitals.
- Serve as an ambassador for Neulife, ensuring excellent rapport with medical professionals and service providers.
- Pickup and deliver medical records and imaging CDs as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Must be respectful and compassionate when interacting with persons served.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in schedule or situation.
- Reliable, responsible, and mature, with a positive, cheerful attitude.
- Must be comfortable with providing care and assistance to persons served when needed.
- Experience in transportation and CNA Certificate is required
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
