Nations Info Corp is seeking a hands-on, DevOps Engineer to join our technical team. You will help efficiently run the company’s Java and Web application operations, monitoring, and DevOps infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Help run and improve operations, releases, continuous integration and monitoring of our web-based production environment, which is a combination of on-premise equipment and cloud services

• Improve the company’s production KPIs: uptime, site performance, reliability and costs

• Implement monitoring and alerting processes and procedures to ensure actionable alerts are generated, operated on and problems eliminated before impacting customers

• Be the front line in helping internal customers in troubleshooting production issues and create mechanisms for easy troubleshooting (such as log consolidation, visualization etc.)

• Look at the logs and production DB configuration to troubleshoot issues as well as help business users in implementing new configurations

• Spot and fix problems

• Research, learn, and adapt to new technologies

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering-related discipline, with proven experience offsetting degree

• Familiarity with one or more Linux distributions

• Experience writing scripts

• Excellent experience in AWS and Azure technologies

Desirable Experience

• Automation and configuration tools such as CloudFormation, Ansible, and Chef

• Very good understanding of SQL and relational Databases. NoSQL experience is a plus.

• Java application servers and programming experience

• Proficient in scripting with languages such as Python, Perl and Shell scripts
