Purpose of the Role
AGS is transitioning into a more structured, scalable, and system-driven operation under Carlile. To support this growth, AGS requires a dedicated Training Manager responsible for designing, standardizing, and maintaining training systems that ensure consistent onboarding, qualification, and skill development across all AGS stations.
This role provides centralized leadership for training programs, documentation alignment, and training execution, ensuring operational consistency, compliance, and readiness across the division.
Key Responsibilities
1. Systemwide Training Program Management
- Design, implement, and maintain AGS training programs, including:
- New hire training
- Recurrent and refresher training
- On-the-job training (OJT)
- Designated Ground Trainer (DGT) program
- Standardize new hire and recurrent training across all AGS stations
- Develop and maintain training curricula, schedules, and delivery methods
- Build and maintain leadership and supervisory training focused on operational skills, expectations, and standard work
2. Training Standardization & Documentation
- Develop, update, and maintain:
- SOPs and MSOPs
- OJT checklists
- POIs and training guides
- Ensure training materials align with:
- AGS operational standards
- Division Control Plans (DCPs)
- AGS Organizational Governance Manual (as applicable)
- Maintain version control and document consistency across all stations and workgroups
- Partner with Safety and Compliance teams to ensure training supports regulatory and operational requirements
- Coordinate with HR, Safety, and Compliance to deploy required policy, regulatory, and safety training updates across all AGS locations
3. DGT Program Oversight
- Build and maintain the DGT structure across all AGS stations
- Define DGT qualifications, responsibilities, and training expectations
- Provide guidance and support to DGTs to ensure consistent training delivery
- Monitor training quality and provide feedback for improvement
4. Cross-Site Training Alignment & Support
- Serve as the central point of coordination for training across all AGS locations
- Support General Managers and Regional Managers with training alignment and rollout
- Assist with implementation of new procedures, systems, and operational standards
- Travel to stations as needed to support training implementation and consistency
Scope & Authority
- Systemwide training ownership for AGS
- No direct ownership of HR policy, employee relations, or culture/engagement programs
- Acts as a subject-matter expert and advisor to operational leadership on training and qualification standards
Qualifications
- Experience managing training programs in operational, logistics, aviation, transportation, or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of standardized work, SOP development, and OJT programs
- Experience supporting multi-site operations
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to influence without direct authority
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience building training systems from the ground up
- Familiarity with compliance-driven or safety-sensitive operations
- Experience working with frontline, supervisory, and management teams
