The Full-Time Reservationist is a client/guest liaison for services, special events, and other activities as required. He or she is an outstanding communicator with exceptional customer service skills. In addition, the Reservationist performs a wide variety of administrative tasks to keep information organized and accurate and regularly makes calls to confirm bookings, follow up on inquiries, and obtain guarantees. He or she also assists management with floor planning and communicating with daily on-call staff.

The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma (additional training or coursework in a business related field preferred) and at least one year of experience in a restaurant setting with some management or supervisory responsibilities. Previous reservation experience highly preferred. Fluent English speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Monitors and tracks reservations regular meal services as well as bookings for special events and private rooms
  • Audits checks and separates food and beverage amounts
  • Updates event orders with menu selections, audio-visual requirements, payment methods, etc.
  • Sends proposals, including inquiry responses and policy agreements, to clients
  • Prints personalized dinner menus, produces valet cards, and makes a copy of credit card information for final payment for the service staff
  • Distributes all incoming/outgoing correspondence, mail, faxes, etc.
  • Ensures that all required reports are accurate and timely
  • Manages supplies and ensures orderly work areas

QUALIFICATIONS   

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma required; some post high school education or training preferred
  • One year of experience in the restaurant industry
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Experience in supervising and managing staff
  • Point-of-sale (cash register) and credit or debit card processing skills
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
